Rocky mountains - Jasper national Park
How is your day going? Great!
Its been more than a week since I've left my homecountry and I've already tought a couple times of ways to stay here. Its hard to describe how it feels to be around this landscape. The forest, the mountains and the lakes. The trees, the animals, the Canadian culture. Everything is giving me the shiffers, Ive never been so impressed by nature.
The busride frome vancouver to Jasper was long and exhausting, 12 hours ride with many stops and pauses and we arrived in Jasper 6;30 in the morning, but we saw a black bear on the road so my day was already perfect. Jasper itself is a super cute ininini village (and super duper expensive, even for groceries). No wifi, not knowing where the hostel is and no place open yet. So its waiting till 7 am for the first coffee shop to open. Around 7;30 im asking around if they know where the hostel is, its a 100 minute walk uphill. Great, ive only got 2 big bags and 1 small bag with me. Like I told, Canadians might be the most polite and nicest people on earth. A guy is walking to work so I could get in the truck and get a ride to my hostel fron the other guy in the car.
Friday I rented a mountainbike and killed myself with a 3hour bikeride on a trail that was prety dangerous and at the start I got already warned for the hectic trail and the bears on the road. Full of adrenaline Im doing the best but hardest trail ever while im singing, the bears have to know where you are so they will avoid you. After 3 hours, when im almost back at the hostel I finally got to see a mother bear with two cups.
In the evening we are heading to a lake to have a bonfire, music and food. Life is beyond perfect on days like these . When we're back at the hostel, Jonnieboy is waiting for me :) (Jon the Canadian from my previous trip). We drove to town to get a super expensive alcoholic drink and went back for the campfire, where we sat tilk midnight with others.
Saturday we went hiking for a few hours and rented a mountainbike for another 25km bikeride to make sure we were completely dead and starving from hunger. We planned to make the smores and smokies (canadian experience 100%) somewhere, but we were to hungry and ate at a cheap burger place. Back at the hostel it was S'mores night, so for the first time I could try it out. With sangria and fireball we enjoyed another night at the campfire <3
Sunday we went to a cafe for some coffee before we did another small hike and went to the hot springs. Can you imagine, hot springs in the middle of the rocky mountains? It is as awesome as it sounds.... after going into a super hot pool to an icecold ine for a couple times we drove back to the hostel where Jon dropped me off and went back to Edmonton. I hiked up to the Whistlers Mountain, ignoring the warning sign not to go up the mountain... how bad could melting snow be after weeks of good weather. After more than an hour I got hungry so I went back and ate my backpackers dinner (bread with egg, bread with peanutbutter and veggies with dip) tonight bbq with the hostel.
Thats it for now, take care and I will probably write again when Im in Edmonton after my Hitchiking experience!

I think you have the time of your life. Beautiful nature, hiking, mountainbiking, nice people around you.... (Jon?), campfire etc.
It's good to read that you're enjoying yourself.
Don't stay tomlong in Edmonton. There are much more nicer places to visit. The Rockies is a great area. Explore..... go to Banff and from there to Lake Louise. Hire a canoe and peddle across the lake. It's beautiful over there. Lake Moraine is nearby Lake Louise, and is also a great lake.
Do what you like.
For now big hugs
